BIO
Dr. Ngoc-Minh (Minh) Pham holds a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Before joining the University of Florida, she has worked as a data science fellow for the Metadata Research Center at Drexel University, as a data analyst for the Missouri Small Business Development Center, as a user experience and usability researcher for the Information Experience Lab at the University of Missouri, and as a high school teacher for gifted students in Vietnam. In her free time, Minh loves gardening and reading.

Dr. Gayathri Sadanala earned her Ph.D. from the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2023. As a TELL alumni, Gayathri is now an assistant professor at Truman State University. She has done her Master’s in Engineering Technology and bachelor’s in computer science Engineering. Her research interests are interactions in Virtual Reality Environments, data science visualization, Usability, and User experience studies.

BIO
Dr. Hao He earned his Ph.D. from the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2023. As a TELL alumni, Hao is now an assistant professor at Emporia State University but still contributing to and collaborating with TELL. His research interests include virtual reality learning environment, game-based learning, instructional design, and engineering education (focusing on creativity development). Hao has multiple publications in well-known peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Collaborative Learning on the Topic of Meteorology Science
We are working with collaborators from the School of Engineering and the College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources to build up CAVE VR-based course modules for collaborative learning on the topic of meteorology science.
The following photos showed that the students were participating in a session with their instructor, within one of the instructional scenarios created by the CAVE virtual environment.

BIO
Dr. Jhon Bueno-Vesga, earned a doctorate from the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies of the University of Missouri-Columbia. A Fulbright scholar, Dr. Bueno-Vesga’s research interests lie in computer science education and human-computer interaction. He has 10 years of industry experience in all aspects related to information systems, and he has designed and tested virtual reality learning games and simulations and worked in the area of usability and user experience. Dr. Bueno-Vesga has extensive experience teaching face-to-face undergraduate technology courses and has also designed and taught online courses for several universities, including the University of Missouri. He holds an MBA from Asia-Pacific International University, and a master’s degree in information technology and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Industrial University of Santander.
Dr. Bueno-Vesga currently teaches the following courses:
- IST 140, Introduction to Application Development
- IST 210, Organization of Data
